I tried to draw a picture of you

It's not as simple as you think it is

Either on a canvas or a drawing pad

Each time I tried I couldn't get a single stroke right

I tried to trace you on a projector screen mounted on the wall

While it looked so easy

It took me an eternity

This portrait of you looked so real

Yet has no breath to keep itself alive

So burn up all the canvases and toss those drawings aside

I'm saying goodbye to all the failures before my final try

I will trace you with my fingers and paint you with my lips

On the walll of an empty gallery

Your picture hangs alone in my memory

Forever to savour

My own to remember
